M365: Understanding Your Entitlements and Usage

As Microsoft has shifted to a primarily cloud-based, subscription model for their software, they’ve introduced more complicated bundles of products as the Microsoft 365 Suites. These package all of the typical desktop productivity features—like Office, Windows, SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, security features, and Client Access Licenses—into a single SKU. While this seems like a helpful bundling, knowing what you’re actually using and deploying can be a challenge. Microsoft’s features built into the Online Services Portal make it easy to deploy new licenses and difficult to track usage. Additionally, name changes, a la carte components, and additional bundles make optimizing your spend a complex task.
